Our Salon Policies

Every time an appointment is canceled a Stylist goes hungry

All joking aside, our policies are in place to insure everyone's experience is relaxing and pleasureable.

If you have any issues regarding our policies, you can email or call us.

These Policies are in effect
as of June 1, 2024

Appointment Deposit

There is now a $50 Non-Refundable Deposit to secure any appointment with services that either total more than $100 or requires more than 1-hour of a Stylists time to be scheduled.

Hair Extension appointments require a 50% Non-Refundable Deposit of the total service.

To insure you do not lose your deposit:
1. Cancellations must be no less than 48 hours prior to appointment
2. Rescheduling must not be less than 48 hours to appointment
3. Your deposit will be applied to your service total after your appointment is serviced

For existing clients, you will be granted the opportunity to secure appointments without leaving a deposit as long as you respect our Cancellation/Reschedule policies. If, for any reason, your appointment is cancelled or rescheduled less than 48 hours then future appointments will require a Non-Refundable Deposit to secure an appointment.

To both exisiting and new clients, as a courtesy, we will refund your security deposit if your appointment is cancelled 72 hours+ (3 days) from your scheduled appointment.

Late/Tardiness

A Stylists' most valueable asset is their time and we will always do our best to accomodate you if an unforeseen circumstance has caused you to be be late to your appointment.

However, tardiness can affect the remainder of your Stylists' schedule by delaying them for their clients who come in on time. For this reason, we have established a policy for such situations.

If you have not arrived 10-15 minutes after your scheduled appointment, we will call you to confirm your arrival time. If there is enough time to complete your service without negatively affecting the rest of the clients scheduled with your Stylist, we may require you to forgo parts of the service in order to keep it in the time allotted for you or we will be forced to reschedule your appointment.

If you even think you might be late, give the salon a call. We’d rather know as early as possible so we can do our best to fit you in without delaying your Stylist’s schedule and other clients valuable time.

If we cannot reach you by phone or text and you do not show for your appointment, we will require a $50 Non-Refundable deposit to book another appointment with any of our Stylists.

Cancellation & Rescheduling

We require a 48 Hour notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment without being charged a $50 fee.

NOTE: We are closed on Monday. To cancel a Tuesday appointment you will have to call no later than Saturday to avoid the $50 fee.

We do, of course, understand that unavoidable issues come up and will do our best to work with you in case of an emergency, etc. However, if last minute cancellations or ‘no shows’ become a habit, in addition to the loss of your $50 deposit, you will be charged a cancellation fee.

Here is a general breakdown of cancellation fees:

• Cancellation/Reschedule 48 hours prior to appointment - $0
• Cancellation/reschedule less than 48 hours - loss of $50 deposit and new deposit will be required to reschedule.
• No Show to your appointment - loss of $50 deposit and a new non-refundable deposit equal to 50% of scheduled service to secure an appointment with your Stylist.

As a courtesy, we do call, text and/or email to confirm your appointment 48 hours and 24 hours prior to your appointment. If we are unable to reach you and only leave a message, or cannot reach you at all, understand that it is your responsibility to remember your appointment date and time in order to avoid missed appointments and cancellation fees.

Covid-19

Although the entire ColorBarSD Team is vaccinated for Covid-19 it still could become deadly for certain people and we still take Covid seriously.

If you have Covid, please reschedule your appointment. If you insist on coming in with symptoms, be considerate - let your Stylist know you have been ill so they can choose to protect themselves with a mask. But you really should reschedule your appointment.

Cancellation/Rescheduling fee of $50 will be required to reschedule or book another service appointment if you cancel or reschedule less than 48 hours before your appointment.

Facial Masks in Salon

During Cold and Flu season and periodically throughout the year, you may see the Team wearing facial masks. That usually signifies someone in the salon may not be feeling well and to protect everyone we require all staff to wear facial masks.

Your Stylist may offer you a mask for your protection. The option is yours unless you are not feeling well then the mask is required to complete your service.

A Stylists' income is based on the services they provide. When they get sick, they and their families suffer financially if they cannot perform their duties. Help keep your Stylist Healthy and wealthy by letting them know if you require a mask.

Children in the Salon

Hair color appointments can take several hours to complete and that time can be very long for young children who don't yet understand the length of time it takes for Mommy to look beautiful.

Although it is best for small children to do something fun while Mommy gets time for herself we understand that sometimes

Smoking, Vaping, Drugs & Alcohol

We insist on a smoke-free environment for the sake of all our clients and staff. Smoking or vaping is not permitted anywhere inside the building.

If you must smoke or vape during your appointment time, you can smoke outside of the building but not near the doors or windows. We also ask you to dispose of your cigarettes in a closed trash bin and not thrown on the floor.

The use of drugs is not permitted while in the salon. Please refrain from partaking in any form of mood-altering drugs until after your appointment.

Alcohol is served in the salon. Each guest will be limited to two alcoholic drinks during the course of the appointment. Anyone displaying signs of drunkenness will be asked to leave and may be banned from the salon if they engage in any form of inappropriate behavior.

Phones & Personal Electronics

Everyone is entitled to a pleasant experience while in our salon. We ask that you refrain from accepting or making phone calls while in the salon. If you must take a call, please step outside so as not to disturb other clients.

If you are in the salon, wearing headphones while on a call is also not acceptable as a one-sided conversation is still dusruptive to others.

If you are watching videos please use headphones and do not place your phone on speakerphone or live video chats (FaceTime) while in the salon.

Do not use your cell phone for any reason in the shampoo room, no exceptions permitted.

Service Redo's & Refunds

ColorBarSD guarantees all of our work. If there is aver a time you are unhappy with your haircut or color, simplye let us know and we will address the issue in one of two ways. A "redo" with your Stylist or a more senior Stylist if necessary or a partial or full refund depending on the circumstances.

If you are unhappy with your color or cut, you must contact the salon within 48 hours of your appointment to book a Service Redo within 5 days. Your Stylist will be given the opportunity to correct the service unless we feel a more senior Stylist should perform the Service Redo. This will be a Free Service Redo.

Rescheduling a Service Redo appointment will incur the following fees:

  1. Service Redo made 8-14 days after original appointment - $50
  2. Appointments made 2 weeks (14 days+) after the original appointment is considered a New Service appointment and will be performed at our Stylist's full service price. A $50 Non-Refundable deposit will be required to secure the appointment.

Refunds are provided at our discretion but not considered until we are given the opportunity to correct any part of your color or cut you are not happy with. To receive a free Service Redo we require you meet the following criteria:

  1. You have not put any product or chemicals in your hair.
  2. You did not have another salon or person attempt to correct it.

If you are not happy with your haircut or color, the best option is to address it with your Stylist the day of your appointment. Our goal is to make sure you love your hair and we will always do whatever we can to meet that goal.

Hillcrest Homeless

Please remember Hillcrest is part of a big city and the growing population of Unhoused People, some with mental health conditions, drug or alcohol addictions and some who are simply mean make for an environment that requires us to be aware of our surroundings.

For your safety do not confront anyone outside of the salon. If anyone makes you feel unsafe, please let us know and we will take appropriate action.
